Geocache Description:

The cache is located in Tourne County Park. A beautiful park located in Morris County. You are looking for a Lock & Lock box. Be careful not to be seen. The cache is located off the trail but you may still be visible to others.

I looked for quite a while to find a location that could provide an example of rattlesnake habitat and I think I found it here. It has everything a rattlesnake could ask for: water (prey like frogs live here), rocks, timber, and grasses. This all adds up to lots of food and places to hide. While the habitat is good, it is unlikely you will actually come across a rattlesnake. They are rare.

This cache is the fourth in a series of caches intended to remind us of nature’s diversity. It is meant to be just a little educational but mostly, it’s meant to be fun. Each cache in the series has cards containing a little information about the subject animal. Don’t forget to take an information card with you. There are a total of 6 caches in this series. The six are: Black Bear (GC1V9M7), White-Tailed Deer (GC1VE6H), Beaver (GC1VT13), Rattlesnake, Mallard, and Coyote.

This is not a themed cache so feel free to trade any item that you wish. The first to find prize in each cache is a coin bearing the animal’s image on one side; and the cache name on the other.
