A Little bit of Sweden Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Seek2FindMe: Cache is being archived by adoptive mother, Seek2FindMe, to make way for a new cache placement.

Original cache owners, Totarama & Lady Pamela, have agreed that archiving this one, and opening up the area for a new placement, should encourage both new and older (experienced) cachers to visit this lovely area again.

Thanks Terry & Pam!

Geocache Description:

A little bit of Sweden in the heart of California.

Located on the Croy Rd. heading towards Sveadal

Sveadal is a private Swedish American community. It is located in the eastern Santa Cruz Mountains, adjacent to Uvas Canyon County Park. It has been owned by the Swedish American Patriotic League since its founding in 1926. The village covers approximately 110acres.

We came here for the 'Midsummer's Day' celebrations which are performed here every year and are well worth a visit. Originally we were going to name this cache 'A Midsummer's Night's Dream' but that was a month ago and somehow it has lost its momentum.

Parking is best approached from the exit to the village, so you may want to drive through the village, turn round and come back. The access road is marked as 'Private' but the County have an easement that allows you to drive through the community to gain access to Uvas Canyon Park.

The cache is a 4x5in Lock-N-Lock container. Its a 'drive up and grab' cache and should not be too difficult to find. However, it is not really wheelchair friendly. Sorry.

Please e-mail me if your are having problems.
