Borgå Gymnasium sijaitsee Lukiokadulla Porvoon empire kaupunginosassa. Empire kaupunginosa syntyi kun Aleksanterin I:n seuraaja, taantumusajan keisari Nikolai I halusi hävittää ruotsinvallan aikaisen kaupunki-ilmeen ja rakentaa tilalle venäläisen empirekaupungin. Suunnittelijaksi nimettiin arkkitehti Carl Ludwig Engel, joka suunnitteli mm. Helsingin Senaatintorin ympäristön. Empire-Porvoon asemakaava on moderni, väljä, säännöllinen ruutukaava, jossa on viivasuorat kadut ja korttelit.
Suomen vanhin julkinen kirjasto
Borgå Gymnasiumin 1840 rakennetussa lisärakennuksessa sijaitsee Suomen vanhin julkinen kirjasto, joka on perustettu jo vuonna 1728. Kirjaston sisustus on J.L.Runebergin ajoilta. Kirjastossa olevat vanhimmat painetut kirjat kuuluvat inkunaabeli-ryhmään (painettu ennen vuotta 1500). Kirjastosta löytyy myös ensimmäinen painettu matemaattinen teos eli Euklideen geometrian painos 1482 ja ensimmäinen ruotsinkielinen Raamattu vuodelta 1541 sekä ensimmäinen suomenkielinen Raamattu vuodelta 1642.
Lukiokadun toisella puolen on hieno "Ruusupuistoksi" nimetty puistoalue jonka eteläpäähän on vastikään rakennettu hieno leikkipuisto, joka saattaa olla lapsiperheiden mieleen.

Porvoo Gymnasium is located by the Lukiokatu street in the Empire Town District. This district was formed by Alexander I's successor, Emperor Nicholas wanted to dispose of Swedish modern urban look and build to replace the Russian empire in the city. He named as a Designer , architect Carl Ludwig Engel, who designed by mm. Helsinki Senate Square and the environment. The Empire of Porvoo layout is modern, loose-fitting, regular Grid plan, which is a straight line the streets and blocks.
Finland's oldest public library
Porvoo Gymnasium annex building built in 1840 located in Finland's oldest public library, which was established in 1728. The library's interior is J. L. Runeberg times. The library of printed books are the oldest group of incunabula (printed before 1500). The library can be found also the first printed mathematical book of geometry, ie Euklid 1482 edition and the first Swedish-language Bible from 1541 and the first Finnish-language Bible from 1642.
Other side of the Lukiokatu street is a wonderful park area called "Rosepark".In south end of the park has been recently built a great playground, which families with children can enjoy visiting also.
