Get Caught In The Stampede
Come find the first of the West Chilcotin Pill Bottle Caches,
and if your timing is right, join in on the excitement of the
Anahim Lake Stampede. The first weekend of July is when the town of
Anahim Lake hosts a party that draws crowds from across the region.
Centered around a rodeo that is packed with ridin’ and ropin’,
there is a nightly steak feed and dancing to live music. This is
the premier event in the area, and fun for all. (Don’t pass up the
beer garden)
The rest of the year, the Stampede Grounds are pretty quiet. A
nice resting place for a small, log-only, cache. BYOP (Bring your
own pen). There is no need to actually enter the grounds, but the
cache could not be any closer. No hints required, just a good GPS
and inquisitive mind.
