Geocache Description:

“Life is not easy. We all have problems-even tragedies-to deal with, and luck has nothing to do with it. Bad luck is only the superstitious excuse for those who don't have the wit to deal with the problems of life. ”
-Joan Lowery Nixon

This cache was placed by Psyprofs and adopted by HistoryJoe23 in August 2021.

Description (Psyprofs): About 1930, Grandfather Finchum came here, bought this land, and built this house. Finchums have farmed here ever since, and the daughter in law of Grandfather Finchum, a lifelong quilter and who is honored with this quilt square, still lives in the 1930 home. This is a prototypical family farm, worthy of our admiration. The Mountain Variation quilt pattern is popular for its bold symmetry, and lends itself to some beautiful variations in color. We found an example online that was sewn in 1930, the same year this home was built!

The cache is placed with the permission of the property owner.
