Swansea Steppes Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

DDDIRC: Retrieved the wet container & found the area covered in unsavoury litter. Decided to archive this cache & think about a cleaner location nearby - will need to think of a clever container due to the evening muggle population.

Congratulations to all who found the cache over the years.

Geocache Description:

Replaced and improved 22/06/2010 Small plastic box set near a poorly maintained steep path/steps with stunning views (on a clear day).

If using public transport there is a bus stop at bottom of steps on Carmarthen Road, but if coming by car it is recommended you park near the top of the steps on Townhill Road.
Be aware that the path is not well maintained and might be slippery when covered with autumn leaves.
On a clear day the views across Manselton School, Liberty Stadium and Swansea Bay from the top end of the path are well worth the steep walk and are the reason I placed a cache here. The cache is placed a bit lower down in a place a less likely to be spotted by teen muggles and might need to be found by touch rather than sight. You are out of sight of the bus stop, but might need a little stealth as the path is in regular (but not heavy) use.

The old 35mm film canister went missing on a couple of occasions so I have replaced with a slightly larger tub, set further off the path. You will need to leave the path now, but if you can manage the steps, you can manage the new terrain.

Good luck - Hope you enjoy.
