Geocache Description:

The cache is a 35mm film pot placed approximately 3ft (1m) above ground level. It should be accessible to wheelchair cachers.
Please note that Geocaching HQ rules require you to retrieve the cache and sign the logbook before claiming a Found It.

The cache marks the very nearby location where a WW2 unexploded bomb (UXB) was detonated under controlled conditions.

Like the bomb squad, that sometimes use a special tool to extract the fuse of an unexploded bomb, you will need a special tool to extract this cache.

Google "Unexploded German bomb is detonated in Eastbourne" to see a British Pathe film of the controlled explosion.

Google "Eastbourne Uxb Aka Eastbourne Unexploded Bomb" to see a British Pathe film showing the before (e.g. Danger UXB signs) and after scenes (e.g. nearby houses with blown out windows).

I have been very lucky to find this original WW2 Bomb Sling blueprint.
Amazingly, the name, rank, and country of origin of the artist is written on the rear of the blueprint.
