Geocache Description:

This cache is a 35mm film pot located at ground level. Sorry, its remoteness means that it is not accessible to wheelchair cachers.

Near to the cache you will see a concrete cap over the entrance to an underground chamber.
Local legend suggests that this was a WW2 secret hideout.

I wish that it were!
It is, in fact, a disused reservoir tank that used to supply water to the greens of the nearby golf course.

If you don't believe me, then read this: (visit link)

You can see the nearby bomb crater very clearly.

Please note that there is a lot of tree cover around the cache so the co-ordinates may not be as accurate as they could be. You may therefore need to use your cachers' eye to find it.

I am always keen to hear of any WW2 sites, large or small.
So, if you know of any local ones, then please let me know.

This cache could be found individually, e.g. by parking in the Butts Brow pay car park and walking south, or as part of the developing Jevington Trail series.
