Geocache Description:

Along the bridleway that was Old Shire lane, a small cache close to the edge of the Chiltern Open Air Museum. Easy find, but a steepish slope down the hill - and the bridleway can get muddy!

The Old Shire Lane Walk is a circular walk that runs just to the South of Chorleywood, nr the start of the Chiltern Hills on the Hertfordshire Buckinghamshire borders. This part of the walk is shared with the Chiltern Way.
This cache is hidden close to Phillipshill Wood, and just across the fence form the open Air Museum. Under no circumstances should you consider approaching this from the museum side, or the museum from this side - the fence is there for a reason!
The cache is a small lock and lock box -just big enough for a few small swaps.
Beware mud - even in July the bridleway can be quite muddy. Parking in Old Shire lane near the woods will allow you to take in the recently placed phillipshill cache as well... and then continue on the The Swillet for another cache - and the Stag Pub, or the Land of Liberty (a CAMRA pub, very good for real ale), are both not far from here.....
