This rest stop was begging for a cache.
The main reason to stop here (other than to maybe allow your
vehicle cool down after the big hills) is to take in the incredible
view. There are many spots where you get a really good view of this
beautiful lake - this is one of the most spectacular.
The cache itself is back from the
cliffs in order to keep cachers safe and prevent muggling. However
it would be criminal to stop here and not take in the view, so
please do. If you're squeamish about heights, there is a fenced off
area in the rest area proper. Just past the cache is another great
viewpoint, but watch that you, your kids, or pets do not get too
close to the edge. It's a long way down.
There is a good trail leading away
from the truck brake check (not the actual rest area), so start
here, and you won't be blocked by the rest area fence. Have fun and
