This is #9 in a series honoring and celebrating movies, both good and bad.

Starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, this film series first hit the big screen in May 2002. The movie tells the tale of Peter Parker who lives with his aunt and uncle and next door to his crush Mary Jane Watson (played by Kirsten Dunst). One day while on a school trip to a genetics lab (of all places!?), he sustains a bite from a genetically modified spider. The following morning, he awakens with shocking new attributes. He has gone from a scrawny kid to one with muscles, perfect eyesight, and soon learns to shoot webs from his wrists. A new superhero is born and his name is “The Human Spider”. No wait, it’s Spiderman! The three movies each have a particular flavor of villains that he must overcome, in addition to multiple efforts to save the citizens of New York and his beloved Mary Jane. It is the struggle within him to balance the two lives, his life as Spiderman and his life as Peter. It all hangs in the balance …
