Geocache Description:

12oz Ovaltine container wrapped in cammo tape.

This is one of the most basic kind of hides in the North West.

I personally abhor, despise, loathe, hate, and detest these kind of hides. Somehow I always find myself searching for them. There are so many of these features in our area that they often get used as a place to hide a cache.

I thought maybe if I hid one like this I might end up liking them more, as people describe and share their challenges finding this one, when they log it.

I have named this one after a very dear friend of mine that lives in the assisted living home located just yards from this cache. If you knew him, you would understand where the name came from! It has nothing to do with his condition.

He suffers from Alzheimer's and Dementia. He still remembers me but often times, he can't remember something we were talking about 10 minutes ago.

He smiles and cries every Friday when I come here to pick him up for dinner. We have known each other for 17 years.

He was an avid reader until his memory started to fade. Even with his poor memory he still has moments of clarity and will quote long excerpts from books or speeches. Some of his favorites are from people like Winston Churchill, Washington Irving, and John Steinbeck.

Here is a short example.
