Geocache Description:

A small geocache hidden near the Etruria Industrial Museum. You do not have to enter the museum to find the cache. Paths are fairly even but you will have to go off path a short way to find the cache.

Etruria Industrial museum is a scheduled ancient monument as it is the last working steam-powered potters' mill in Britain. The museum is only open on a few dates a year. Check the website for details.

The mill was built in 1857 to grind materials needed for the pottery industry. These included flint and cattle bone - yes, bone china really does have bones in it! Jesse Shirley built the mill at Etruria where materials could be easily transported to the nearby pottery factories. The Jesse Shirley and Sons company is still going and now has a modern mill at this site situated just behind the museum. Occasionally there is still a smell of ground bone in the air...

The cache is well hidden so you'll need to search quite hard for it.
