Geocache Description:

Join us at 11:00 on Saturday, October 10th, at beautiful Merli-Sarnoski State park for our fall cache event. All geocachers are welcome to attend, whether they are members of NEPAG or not. We have reserved the Beach Pavilion within the park, so the event will take place rain or shine. Merli-Sarnoski park is a county park with a 35 acre lake for fishing and boating, over 8 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails winding through 840 acres of preserved woodlands, and a large wheelchair accessible fishing platform. There is a fenced-in playground adjacent to the pavilion, and dogs are welcome if they are leashed. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park.

Post a log if you plan to attend so we know how many people to expect, and please indicate in your log what you will contribute to our potluck lunch. There is a list of needed items at the bottom of the cache description. We ask that you choose an item from this list so that we will have variety of dishes to enjoy and a minimum of duplicates. If bringing hotdogs or hamburgers, please bring the buns to go with them. If bringing a side dish or dessert, please state what it will be, and be sure to bring a serving spoon if needed. NEPAG will provide cups, plates, napkins, utensils, and condiments, so none of these items are needed.

Some of the planned activities include:

*There will be a raffle of geocaching/outdoors related items donated by NEPAG members. All attendees are encouraged to donate something for the raffle. Items should be dropped off as you sign the logbook.

*Sign up to join NEPAG…information for registering your membership online will be available!

*Lunch will be potluck. Please indicate in your “will attend” log what you will contribute.

*Several new caches will be hidden in the park (all will be officially listed after the event).

Note: Upon arrival, all attendees are asked to sign the official event logbook and pick up a nametag. Also upon arrival, you may drop off your raffle item and leave your potluck items at the buffet table.
