Kätkö unohdetusssa Toppelundin linnoituksessa Espoossa.
[FIN] KATSO MIHIN ASTUT! Alueella on lähes täysin kasvillisuuden peittämiä juoksuhautoja. Talvella lumi ja jää korvaa kasvuston. Kätkö on kuitenkin turvallista hakea. Helpoiten lähestyminen tapahtuu Toppelundintieltä lähtevää polkua pitkin.
[ENG] Caution! There are several trenches and foxholes totally covered by vegetation in this area. In the winter vegetation is replaced by snow. Searching for a proper hideout with extreme caution is strongly recommended. The easiest approach is using a path from the Toppelundintie.
[FIN] Vuosina 1914 - 1917 venäläiset rakensivat valtavan maalinnoituksen Helsingin ympärille suojaksi pelättyä saksalaisten hyökkäystä vastaan. Maalinnoitus ulottuu ketjuna Espoon Toppelundista aina Helsingin Vuosaareen asti. Se kulkee läpi Helsingin lähiöiden ja pientaloalueiden. Linnoituksesta on jäljellä noin kaksi kolmannesta, noin puolet tästä on huonossa kunnossa.

[ENG] Between 1914 and 1917 Russian forces vastly fortificated the surroundings of Helsinki in order to protect the capital area against a much-feared German offensive. The chain of fortifications reached from Toppelund in the neighbouring town, Espoo all the way to Vuosaari in eastern Helsinki. This line of fortifications penetrates several current housing estates and other modern constructed areas.
The very existence of these hugely important historical constructions is by large forgotten even by the local population; Very few would be able to recognize and describe these elements in their own environment. The missing tourist information sign speaks its own language: Only approximately one third of the fortification remains, and the still-existing ruins are already in a very lousy condition.
