Geocache Description:

Upper Fish Fork Camp

This will not be easy. Many very seasoned hikers have failed on more than one attempt to find this camp. Some have found it only to return a year later to fail again.

GPS reception is absolutely horrible due to the towering San Antonio Ridge and forest tree canopy. I had access to two Garmin 60csx’s at time of placement, they both indicated 60ft accuracy. You will never find the cache if you do not comply with these steps:

  • Print the three spoiler images and these instructions.
  • Depart UFFC heading toward the river.
  • Image 1: Standing at the rivers edge cross here and walk to the area as seen in the image.
  • Image 2: Turn to your right and indetify the large old fallen tree on the ground. Walk to it.
  • Image 3: At the fallen tree turn to your left and you will see the cache location as indicated in image.

Note that the book "Trails of The Angeles" by John Robinson mentions this location. Beware that it is outdated and this trail system is one of the least used, badly eroded, heavily overgrown with vegetation and quite simply just does not exist in some areas.

The cache is an ammo can with log only
