Grande Prairie Area Cache and Release III (GPA CAR III) September 12th to 13th 2009. This event involves hiding caches during the time leading up to the GPA CAR III event, finding the GPA CAR III caches over the designated 29 hour period and then meeting-up for a wiener roast where awards will be given and stories will be swapped.
The Hides: Hide your caches between now and September 8th. Must stay within the Grande Prairie, Grovedale and Sexsmith area. Please have the caches hidden and submitted by September 8th so the reviewer can approve all the listings. All caches have to include a note for the reviewer that it will be for the GPA CAR III event. Also please include GPA CAR III in the title of the cache. (ex. The best hide ever - GPA CAR III) WE NEED CACHES FOR THIS TO WORK! So go ahead and put out as many as you want.
The Finds: As of 9:00am Saturday September 12th all caches are available to find. If you find a GPA CAR III cache before 9:00am it will not count in your final finds. From 9:00am September 12th until 2:00pm Sunday September 13th you are free to hunt down as many GPA CAR III caches until the event. The caches will be released for you to view on the evening of Friday the 11th so you can organize for the event. Also please write the exact time in the logbooks so we can see the time elapsed from when one cacher found it to the next.
There will be prizes (TB tags, t-shirts, hats etc.) given out for:
-Most FTFs
-Most Finds
-best non-traditional cache
-Cleverest hide
-Best camo
-Most difficult to find/most devious
The Event: At 2:00pm Sunday September 13th we will meet at Saskatoon provincial park for a weenie roost and prize give away. If you are going to come, post a “will attend” in the log. The directions to Saskatoon provincial Park are: 21 km west of Grande Prairie on Hwy.43 then 4 km north on access road. The posted coordinates will bring you there. There will also be a place to trade TB`s and Geocoins.
Post Event: All GPA CAR III caches should be made to be permanent for all to find at their leisure following the event. Remember to maintain your caches.
