LegallienneS: Sadly this cache has been removed several times. I no longer live in the local area and am unable to maintain the cache at the rate it goes missing. I have no choice but to archive the cache as I have had no volunteers to adopt the cache.

Geocache Description:

A magnetic nano in the heart of olde Rumford.

Welcome to a new category-smelly-cache!
Did you, like me grow up with the smell of roasting hops and yeast, which will always be associated with Romford!
Ind, Coope & Co.'s brewery, which was to become Romford's main industry, was established in 1799, when Edward Ind bought the Star inn, with a small brewery attached, beside the river Rom in High Street. It was a fortunate choice of site, for in 1839 Romford railway station was built ¼ mile south of the brewery, and there was plenty of room for expansion in that direction. In 1845, after two changes of partner, Edward Ind was joined by the brothers Octavius and George Coope. The locals claim that the Rom flooded one year and barrels of beer were seen floating down it! By 1908 it had extensive railway sidings linked to the station, and was employing 450 workers. In 1934 it merged with Allsopp of Burton-on-Trent. After the Second World War Ind, Coope took over several other breweries, and in the 1960s played a leading part in forming Allied Breweries, one of the largest groups of its kind in the world. By 1970 it occupied 20 acres with 1,000 workers.
Now a shiny new shopping centre-the architects at least kept a vision of the old chimney, and a museum of Romford is a 2 minute walk away!
Please be discreet-lots of Muggles!
You are looking for a magnetic nano-open it up and see if you can catch the fragrance of old Romford!
