Geocache Description:

It would be a quick cache and dash if there were somewhere to dash to. The container is a small pill bottle. Beware of Miskito muggles. Stealth will probably be required.

This cache was placed in order for those who didn’t want the challenge of the jungle, but who would like to visit a really interesting tropical location. Kakabila is a typical Miskito village, where fishing is the main source of income. The Miskitos are trilingual, speaking English(Creole), Miskito and Spanish. They are also extremely friendly and if you wish to stay overnight, just mention it to someone in the village and they will find you a room and even feed you!

Kakabila underwent some major changes while I was there. For the first time they have electricity and running water. (I think I actually enjoyed the more primitive conditions, but progress was inevitable.)

To reach Kakabila, you must travel to Pearl Lagoon. You can get to Pearl Lagoon by road from Managua/Rama or by panga from Bluefields. You will need to ask around the wharf area or at the First Stop to see if anyone is going across the lagoon. Contact me for more travel hints if you wish.
