Geocache Description:

[The coordinates above are not for the cache location. The cache is within 2 miles of posted location]

This is a two-stage puzzle. Each of the stages is located at a place with a beautiful view (in its own way) that you might not have visited before.

At the first stage's location you will find information (there is no physical cache there) that you can use to determine the coordinates for the final stage, which is where the cache container is located. The final stage is about 0.7 miles from the first stage (as the crow flies) but will require driving (unless you want to get very wet). There is parking near both stages.

The First Stage Puzzle

Many are familiar with the Sphinx's well-known Riddle:
"What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?"

But fewer are familiar with the Sphinx's Other Riddle:
"Among my neighbors are a baker, a farmer and a gardener (but not spelled like that). Where am I?"

Recently, a slab was unearthed by archeologists containing hieroglyphs which are suspected to provide the answer to the Sphinx's Other Riddle. Unfortunately, the archeologist carrying the slab was startled suddenly by a snake and dropped it, causing it to break into a number of pieces.

By happenstance, the pieces on the floor fell roughly into two rows as shown below -- each piece in the bottom row fits somewhere between two pieces in the top row. By good luck, the pieces in the top row remained in the correct order, relative to one another. Unfortunately, the order of the pieces in the bottom row was scrambled.

Use the hieroglyphs to answer the Sphinx's Other Riddle. They will both provide the coordinates for the location of the first stage and will spell out its name (more or less). The pieces in the bottom row may also give you an indication of what kind of snake startled the archeologist.

A hint on solving the puzzle: You will need the help of a gardener (but not spelled like that). Also, possibly the first of the Additional Hints below.

For your own interest (it is not necessary for finding the cache), after you know the first stage's location, you may want to do some research into who the baker, the farmer and the gardener are.

The Final Stage Puzzle

Go to the first stage's location you computed above and use information found there to answer the questions below to determine the coordinates for the final stage.

You will need to drive from the first stage to the final stage to find the cache. As you walk from the parking to the cache location, you may pass by gardeners (yes, spelled like that).
The container is a well-camouflaged log-only micro (bring your own pen). It may require stealth and a bit of time for searching, so visiting when less busy is recommended. Please replace exactly as found and make sure the log's plastic bag is sealed tight.

Congrats to OleSeeker on FTF [with an honorable mention going to BR95, the other half of Team OleRock :-) ]
[This cache was inspired by the nearby Talk Like An Egyptian cache, despite the fact that, ahem..., I have not solved that one yet...]
