This is still: A quick hide along what's left of the Old St. Helens Highway.
After over six years in its original location, this the Groovy Grove is showing all signs of dying. Nearly the entire grove is infested by some type of bug, turned brown, and the first set of trees have been topped in what I can only assume will be the complete removal of the entire grove. I decided it was best to find a new home for this cache close by. I am posting a photo of the grove as it appears on May 24, 2015, the day of the cache move.
From the original hide: "I've been wondering about this little rectangular grove since I first laid eyes upon it. Who planted it? What purpose did they have in mind for it? I can think of one good use for it: geocache repository.
"This cache is easily reachable from the Old St. Helens Highway. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT park along busy Route 30 - the State Patrol was quite adamant about this. The coordinates were averaged from multiple readings, though the thick canopy and the presence of a nearby cable box may have throw the readings off a tad.
"Container is a medium-sized peanut butter jar, which is large enough for the log, a pen, a couple of Travel Bugs, and not a lot else. Small trinkets may fit once the bugs have moved on.
"FTF gets a $10 gift card to Fred Meyer, with which they can purchase batteries to continue to feed their addiction."
The new location is near the grove and cachers are encouraged to check out the grove while it still stands.
