Swiftsure Community woodland
I Have always wondered why there was an information board displaying a boat at the side of the road. Now I know it is Swiftsure wood Planted by local primary school children in 2005 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar at which HMS Swiftsure took part in. The wood itself is planted with all the types of wood used in the building of the boat. Also there is a plaque in rememberence of Charles Cowling Robinson who was a Midshipman on the HMS Swiftsure from 1804-1807.
Cache is placed outside of the high fence.
