Near a place of worship and a place of rest. this place of dedication inspired this cache hide best.
A memorial park is carved into a small space with big dedication. The park is very new. Loved ones purchased bricks engraved in dedication to their fathers, husbands, brothers & friends who served past & present. The Algoma memorial park is carved out of the history of the old Swedish Baptist church where it once stood. The church was organized in 1903 and built in 1910. The church and property was donated to Algoma township in 1999 with hopes of being restored. The restoration of the old church was too costly for renovation. However the property is now a park memorializing both the old church and veterans together. A seven foot monument is engraved with a print of the original church and the original church bell has been restored and permanently displayed among the monuments and the engraved memorial bricks honoring local veterans. Next to the memorial park is the Algoma township cemetery. The Algoma Baptist church is across the street.
My mother purchased a brick to be engraved with my fathers name hence the title of my cache hide. She brought me here recently to see the memorial park for the first time since it's completion last month. My mother lives just down the road from the park & I have been wanting to hide a cache somewhere near her home as I visit frequently.
Take time to praise God and remember all American Veterans while visiting this area.
