Inaugurato il 30 settembre 2006, è stato realizzato dall'architetto Paolo Portoghesi restaurando l'ex ospedale di Santa Maria dei Battuti (altrimenti detto di San Leonardo) che sorge presso la confluenza tra Sile e Cagnan Grando.
L'idea di fondo su cui si è basato il restauro è stata quella di recuperare lo stile originale armonizzandolo con elementi del design moderno. Voluto fortemente dalla fondazione Cassamarca, l'elegante complesso comprende la nuova piazza dell'Umanesimo Latino e un viale ricavato nel cortile dell'ospedale, costeggiato da spazi commerciali e residenziali. Sono stati inoltre recuperati e resi visibili i resti di antiche mura.
Il Quartiere Latino ospita inoltre il locale polo universitario, costituito da sedi distaccate delle università degli Studi di "Padova" e "Ca' Foscari" di Venezia. I corsi dell'una si svolgono all'interno dello stesso ospedale, l'altra si trova all'interno ex Distretto Militare, al di là del Sile. Le due sponde sono messe in comunicazione da un ponte pedonale in legno, ispirato al ponte delle Guglie di Venezia e progettato dallo stesso Portoghesi.
Si tratta di una cache un po particolare, in un luogo altrettanto particolare.

Opened September 30, 2006, it was designed by architect Paolo Portoghesi restoring the former hospital of St. Mary of the Beaten (alias of San Leonardo) which is located at the confluence of the Sile and Cagnano Grando.
The basic idea on which is based the restoration was to recover the original style harmonizing it with elements of modern design. Strongly wanted by the Cassamarca Foundation, the elegant complex includes the new square Latin Humanism and an avenue proceeds in the hospital courtyard, bordered by commercial and residential spaces. They were also recovered and returned the remains of ancient walls.
The Latin Quarter is also home to the local university, made up of branch offices of the University of Studies of "Padova" and "Ca 'Foscari" of Venice. The courses of one taking place within the same hospital, the other is inside the former Military District, beyond the Sile. The two sides are put in communication by a wooden footbridge, inspired the Guglie bridge in Venice and also designed by the Portuguese.
It is a cache a bit particular, in a place equally particular.
