Geocache Description:

One of two caches placed in Rookery Park. Mainly along tarmac paths, except for the last few feet on this one. Watch out for dogs exercising their muggles.

Rookery Park is a small oasis just off Six Ways, Erdington. Once the home of William Wilberforce's wife, Barbara Spooner, Rookery House is now abandoned and boarded up but still a magnificent building. Barbara was the eldest daughter of Birmingham banker Isaac Spooner and his wife, Barbara Gough-Calthorpe, the sister of the first Lord Calthorpe, a famous name in Birmingham.

The cache is placed within what was the grounds of Rookery House, now Rookery Park it was a box but due to being muggled is now a micro and placed a short way away from its original position.

There are a couple of entrances into the park but the best (and safest) is at the rear of the park where there is either a car park or on road parking. Please note that although the park is available 24/7 the gates to the car park close at dusk.

Please ensure you replace carefully.

Well done to Graham for being first to find. Glad to see you're putting that retirement to good use.
