Watershed - Fingers Island is a small geocache, that is part of the Watershed series.
The cache is located in the remains of Cragg Hill Quarry and all around is the evidence of the industry that was once here. There are linear spoil heaps and fan like spoil heaps and heaps of rock that seem to have just been left by the quarryman.
The cache is located on a fan like spoil heap, that rises like a Fingered Island - hence the name.
Cowpe Moss, Hailstorm Hill and Tottington High End Moor all form a part of this watershed, and water runs of it into the Rossendale Valley, Dearden Brook and the Naden Valley. Ultimately the water eventually ends up in the Irwell, though by a variety of routes.
Hailstorm Hill is also a Marilyn, so if you are a bagger as well as a cacher - you could grab it whilst you are up here.
The area around the cache is uneven, with rocky and boggy areas. Also there are some rocky drops nearby - so please be careful. It is an upland area - so please go prepared.
