Geocache Description:

You will be looking for a match container. This may require a tall person or a monkey. If that was too much of a hint then I am sorry. I like easy caches and this is one of those. Just tell me where to find the log, don't make me look in every hole in every tree in the forest and I am a happy logger. I cannot say the same for all of my caches though as some of you have noticed I am sure. Please wedge this back in to keep it secure.

I love these old rest stops and one with a historical marker and as much history as this one is an added bonus. The "synthetic mushroom" at this location is a reminder of the days gone by when before the Space Race, Kennedy Assassination, Vietnam War, Space Race, Watergate, Jimmy Carter, the Bushes and Capitalism gone Wild all ending in the destruction of the era of the innocent beginning with arguably one of the largest acts of terrorism since Hitler on 9/11 we enjoyed our new found Power and wrestled with how to handle it responsibly. It was a simple time, ignorant of our impact on the climate. We enjoyed our arrogance and naïveté. I can remember the beginning of the end of innocence and ignorance only faintly, the days when we still had true American heroes called astronauts and John Wayne of course. Ronald Reagan.....now that’s another story. I hope you enjoy all of the Chisholm Trail Series Caches. This is true Americana and my history love at its best, the Wild West. I will need to come back to visit Caldwell when I have more time. After reading the history here I fell in love with the Chisholm Trail and desire to learn more. I know that Jessie Chisholm was a large influence in this area and in "taming" the "Wild West." Some day I will make myself an "expert" in my own mind on the Wild West. First I have to retire. Enjoy
