Around the rugged headland Multi-Cache

The Castelli headland in Piriac sur Mer marks a separation between the Vilaine estuary and the western face of the Guerande peninsula famous for its salt farms. Its cliffs are heavily eroded by the action of the Atlantic ocean (the granite coast stops at the south of the headland to leave place to schists that are less resistant to the impact of waves) and forms many caves and small islands close to the coast. Following the trail at the edge of the cliffs or the beach at the foot of the cliffs gives numerous fine view points on natural features (the Lady's Cave, the Cat's Cave, the Mad Monk Hole, the Comforter (couette in French) and Pillows islands) with an horizon line spanning from the Croisic heights to the Rhuys peninsula including in the north west the Dumet Island that is considered the pole of the Land Hemisphere (the hemisphere of Earth covering the maximum surface of land, representing 7/8th of all land).

The coordinate PA1 : N47 22.207 W2 33.114 correspond to the local parking. An alternative parking can be found at pointvPA2 : N47 22.120 W002 32.854 near the cache Port Lorec [GC182Q6] par "Lgag".

• The first waypoint W1 : N47 22.115 W2 33.164 is linked to a legend : the Lord of Lauvergnac, when returning from a crusade with King Saint Louis, died in a shipwreck and its body lied near a big granite rock that became his tombs. Let A be the number of voyels in his name. During the crusade, his wife Yseult, came to watch the sea from the "Lady's Cave". Some also think that the rock is an old sacrifice altar for druids.
• Follow the path or the beach and reach W2 : N47 22.351 W2 33.313 some stairs that must have be built when tourism extended in the area in the XIX and early XXth century with famous people like Emile Zola enjoying staying in Piriac. Let B be the number of steps in the upper flight of stairs. The limit between granite and schist is a rich geological area with some tin veins that where used but Romans and exploited in the XIXth century and even some traces of gold: watch your steps!
• Reach point W3 : N47 22.452 W2 33.530 that is a landing place that most of the time is only used by seagulls. Since the path was damaged by winter storms, at high tide, you may have to go back into the streets of Piriac to go around the headland. Let C be the rank in the alphabet of the letter at the center of the circle. Be careful for these cabalistic activities as you're being closely watched.

The cache is located a little further along the coast at point WF : N47 22.(C-A)0(C+1) W2 33.(B/A+1)1(C-A).

La pointe du Castelli à Piriac sur Mer s'avance entre l'estuaire de la Vilaine et la facade ouest de la presqu'ile de Guérande et ses marais salants. Succédant à une côte granitique qui s'arrête juste au sud de la pointe, ses falaises schisteuses sont soumises à une forte érosion formant des criques, des grottes, des ilots sous les assauts de l'Atlantique. Suivre la côte sur le sentier des douaniers en haut de la falaise ou sur les plages (à marée basse) permet de découvrir de magnifiques points de vue très variés sur les curiosités naturelles (grottes à Madame et du Chat, trou du Moine Fou, îlots de la Couette et des Oreillers), en plus d'un horizon qui s'étend du Croisic jusqu'à la presqu'ile de Rhuys en passant par l'ile Dumet au nord ouest (considérée comme le pôle de l'hémisphère continental, contenant la surface maximum de terres émergées soit les 7/8th du total).

Les coordonnées PA1 : N47 22.207 W2 33.114 correspondent à un parking en bord de mer. Une autre option est le parking au point PA2 : N47 22.120 W002 32.854 à proximité de la cache Port Lorec [GC182Q6] par "Lgag".

• Le premier point W1 : N47 22.115 W2 33.164 correspond à un gros bloc rocheux remarquable qui marque la fin de la zone granitique. D'après la légende, ce rocher est le tombeau du sire Lauvergnac qui, parti plusieurs années en croisade avec Saint Louis, fit naufrage. Sa femme Yseult, qui venait chaque jour l'attendre en comtemplant l'océan depuis la Grotte-à-Madame, découvrir son corps sur le rocher. Soit A le nombre de voyelles du nom de ce seigneur, à chercher aux alentours. Une autre hypothèse concernant le rocher en fait une roche sacrificielle druidique.
• Suivre ensuite le sentier cotier ou la plage pour atteindre le point W2 : N47 22.351 W2 33.313 pour découvrir des escaliers sans doute installés fin XIXème ou début XXème au moment de développement du tourisme balnéaire avec des visiteurs célèbres comme Emile Zola. Soit B le nombre de marches de la volée supérieure des escaliers. Cette zone de transition entre granite et schiste est géologiquement riche avec du minerai d'étain utilisé par les Romains et exploité au XIXème (lieu dit La Mine) et des traces d'or : regardez bien où vous mettez les pieds!
• Atteindre ensuite le point W3 : N47 22.452 W2 33.530, zone d'atterissage qui ne sert pas qu'aux goélands. Soit C le rang dans l'alphabet de la lettre située au centre du cercle. Soyez discrets pour faire vos calculs cabalistiques car vous êtes sous haute surveillance! A marée haute, un éboulement ayant détruit une partie du sentier côtier, il faut passer par les ruelles du village pour atteindre ce point.

La cache est un peu plus loin le long de cette magnifique côte au point WF : N47 22.(C-A)0(C+1) W2 33.(B/A+1)1(C-A).
