The Reindeer Roundabout Ramble is a series of 11 caches plus a Bonus Cache on a 3.1 mile circular walk through fields, woods and
lanes near Overton, West Yorkshire. The paths are in the most part mountain bike/4WD buggy/doggy friendly but as always in the country they can be a bit claggy in parts especially after rain. There are no kissing gates/high stiles to be negotiated, but there is a couple of short narrow wooden footbridges and railway sleeper step over stiles to negotiate
The coordinates given above are not for the Bonus cache but are the suggested parking at the Reindeer Inn Public house in Overton which is a good place to start. It is also an even better place to finish as they have some excellent food and good beers to refresh you after your walk if you need then.
There were originally 15 planned and placed Nos 12-15 were not permissible as they were too close to the prison on the final stretch.
In order to find the RRR Bonus Cache you will have to find at least 6 of the other 11 caches in the RRR series.
The bonus cache can be found at N53 38.ABC W01 37.DEF where ABC/DEF are represented by numbers written on or in the lid of most of the feeder caches in the RRR series.
PLEASE NOTE:
• All caches have been placed so they are accessible from the path without the need to go thrashing through the flora and fauna to find them.. so please don’t!
• Each cache has also been given a clue designed to minimize thrashing about or creating a cachers trail at each location but not necessarily to tell you exactly where the cache is... so stay on the path!
• The exceptions to the above are RRR#9 and RRR#11 and the Bonus which are slightly off path due to location and cache size but the clue is even more explicit to avoid damage.
• Also, the required numbers to find the bonus are repeated several times along the series so a DNF at one should hopefully not mean a DNF on the bonus cache .. so please don’t search in vain!
My objective here is for you to enjoy the walk, preserve the surroundings and grab a bag full of caches along the way and find the bonus without destroying the location around each GZ or bring attention by leaving a cachers trail to each cache.
