This cache is for MLS's birthday. A few days late because she and the rest of the family were on a magical vacation. Hope your birthday rocked!!!
As my sister and I grew up in this beautiful area, I thought it would be a nice spot for her birthday cache. It used to be a farmer's field. His name was "Shorty" Brubaker. It was a dairy farm and you could see the milk trucks going back and forth down Shorty's lane every morning like clockwork. There were mostly cows. Many ducks make their home here now. In the spring, we could watch the calves being born. In the summer, we would feed our fresh cut grass to the cows. In the fall, we would jump the electric fence (or sometimes get shocked by it) to play baseball while avoiding the cow "patties". Careful to avoid the duck "patties" while enjoying the area. In the winter, we would ice skate on the stream which is still there. The small pond has been created more recently.
Although it's not an official park, many people walk and ride bikes through the trail here which connects to a trail through the Overlook area. You can park at the Horst parking lot nearby or walk over the trail from Overlook.
