A short but steep hike to a prominent viewpoint above Nelson. Approximately 1.6 kms with a 300 meter elevation gain. Allow an hour one way.
The trail to Pulpit Rock can be found at a parking area located near the end of Johnstone Road (see additional waypoint). It is a popular trail that climbs up the southern flank of Mt. Nelson (known to the locals as Elephant Mountain) and offers fantastic views of the City of Nelson and the Kootenay River.
The cache is located near a viewpoint on the trail known as Pulpit Rock. Relax and enjoy watching all the people scurrying around below.
This cache is placed about half way to "Elephant Mountain Flea". If you've made it this far your really should carry on up the Mountain.
