Oxbow Labour Day Weekend Event Cache Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi,

I am archiving the listing since the event is long over. Normally events should be archived within 2 - 3 weeks after the event is over. This gives people enough time to log their attendance and gives the owner time to wrap things up. By archiving it you also remove it from the active listings but it can still be viewed by interested cachers.

Thanks

Geocache Description:

When: Saturday Sept 5, 2009
Where: 217 Prospect Ave. Oxbow, SK

It's finally going to happen. After many requests by our friends all around the province, we've decided to hold an event in Oxbow, the geocaching capital of South East Saskatchewan. Come on down and spent a day (or more) hunting for the over 80 caches within a 20 mile (32 km) radius of our town and then meet for a Bar-B-Que at Yoyo Man's house. We will supply the burgers, buns and condiments. Salads, desserts will be pot luck. Bring your own drinks.

Coffee, homemade muffins and caching hints will be available in the morning anytime after 9:00 am. Burgers will be available starting at 5:00 pm. The event will last as long as there are stories to tell and people to tell them. If you are planning to attend, please let us know how many are coming so we can get an idea of how many burgers to have on hand. We are anticipating cachers from Regina, Saskatoon, Yorkton, Manitoba, North Dakota and all points in between. I'm sure we'll also see a good representation from the over 20 cachers in and around the Oxbow area.

We're hoping to have a few of the local cachers hide some new caches just for this event. They will have OXLAB09 at the end of their name and must not be found until the day of the event. Anyone claiming them before Sept. 5th will have their log deleted. Also, please note Retrogirl1977's note about hotel and campsite availability.

A canoe with paddles and life jackets will be available at
N 49 15.7941 W 102 13.461
for anyone wanting to get the island caches at the Alameda Dam Reservoir.
