Geocache Description:

The first in a series of caches placed in locations that have a special meaning to the owner. An easy bushwack of about 70m from the road. There is an old fence with an "entrance" cut into it that you can step over, please watch your step. As you approach the cache, please watch for fallen trees in the underbrush as it can make navigating a little tricky.

This is my first cache. This wooded area is one of the many wooded areas that were my playground when I was growing up. In the mid 70's (I know I'm dating myself) there was a beautiful cedar home on this site, it burned to the ground in an unexplained fire. No one knows what happened to the family that lived there. Some say that the woods are haunted and at night you can hear laughter in the woods. This may not be a cache for the faint-hearted to attempt at night. The land was expropriated and the foundation was excavated but if you look hard enough you can see remnants of a homestead; or possibly a burial ground? The cache is a camo'd peanut butter jar. Parking is available at the cul-de-sac at the end of the road. Although there are no houses to worry about close by, there are some on the way a short distance from the area so some stealth may be required. Please bring your own writing tool. I see the skeeters are just as bad now as they were back then, maybe even bigger!!!!
