This Meneely & Kimberly bell was cast in 1911 and first hung in Auburn's Lincoln School. The school on Fulton st. has been razed since 1977. Because many relics from the past are long gone and who knows where, this bell is kept safe inside. The powers that be are proud of their bell and are happy to share it. Cachers can only access the site on weekdays 8am till 4;30pm. Permission has been given for this cache in the lobby only and you can see several old pictures and contracts while you are here.
As I've said before when I find them I cache em. So come and ring my bell. I've started the cache out with a couple of double A batteries and a Travel Bug. Moisture won't be a problem here.
