Geocache Description:

This cache is one of a series placed at quilt squares throughout Jefferson County. ***Please keep your car on the pavement. It is OK to park in the driveway near the cache.***

This cache is a double treat! As you turn into the driveway (Permission has been given by the owner, but please don’t go more than a couple of car lengths beyond the fork in the driveway.) you will see the quilt square on the barn in your eleven o-clock, and a log cabin on its original site that was built in 1830.

The owner told us that the builder of the house arrived here in about 1830, with a mule, a pocket knife, and seventy-five cents. The owner said he found out in his own research on the deed, which was filed in 1830, the builder paid the registrar of deeds seventy-five cents.

The cache is a large prescription bottle, dressed in camo, and contains one of our signature geocache logo necklaces as a FTF prize. BYOP. It should not be necessary to venture more than 20 feet from the fork in the driveway. Daylight only, please.
