Geocache Description:

Easy to get to, right off of I-70. Short hike up the hill to cache site. Trail could be slippery when wet!

Since I started caching in 2007, I've noticed that there has never been a cache placed on top of Vail Pass. Well notice no more! This cache is located at the rest area overpass. It'seasy to get to whether your going east or west. Could be found year round, depending on snow depth. It started raining as I placed the cache. Start your gps out on the road, it's almost impossible to aquire satelites at the cache site. Trees hide more than just caches. I tried to average the Lat/Long as best I could. Let me know what you find and I'll adjust coordinates if needed :0)

New coordinates have been posted. If you have a compass, try using these directions: Go up the main trail and stop 25' past the cross-country skier post. Turn Right to a bearing of 115* and follow the path up the hill for approximately 100 feet. Stop just before the path crosses a small creek bed. Turn Right to a bearing of 150* and walk approximately 75 feet. You should be in the right area and the spoiler picture should be visible. (Bearings are without declination correction, so you can use a standard basic compass). I've added the turns into the waypoints. Hopefully the mountain gods will smile down on you and blow a helpfull breeze your way and keep the skies clear and you'll have a successful hunt. Otherwise, you'll be Stumped on Vail Pass.......
