Geocache Description:

This is a small broadleaved wood of about half an acre in Burry Port, Carmarthenshire. It is maintained by Coed Cadw (The Woodland Trust). The wood is situated on the southern slope of Mynydd Pen-bre, just north of the A484. There is a public footpath from the A484 to the south (entrance at SN 44310 01552) to the northern edge of the wood (at SN 44395 01677) where it meets St Illtyd’s Way. Parking at the north end of the path is very difficult and not recommended, but parking should be easy at the south end on the A484. I suggest you set your GPS to this point, for as soon as you set off up the path the tree cover will probably knock out your reception.

From the south end of the path, follow the signpost to the Lookout. Halfway up the hill you will find a ruined stone building. As you face the building, there is an overgrown mini-path to the left. About five metres up it there is a tree on the right hand side. At the base of the tree is a lightish coloured rock. Under here you will find the cache (a 35mm film canister). Note that the cache IS NOT IN THE BUILDING.

It is highly recommended that, after you replace the cache, you continue up the path to the top. Here you will find the Lookout, which gives a majestic view over the Gower.
