Homegrown tribute to the boys and girls overseas
This cache is placed with permission on county land. Please park on the approach and not pass the gate. Please take care merging back onto the highway.
The site of the cache actually started as part of the 1 million cross routine, but has been informally added as part of the tribute a little further south on the souther slope of Iona Buttes.
On that slope is a large WELCOME HOME and thank you to the members of National Guard troup 153 and 3 crosses for the ones who didn't return to their families. Please feel free to slow down, flash lights, honk, or whatever you feel appropriate to thank those young men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom as you pass.
This site was started by a father of a young local man returning home from his first deployement in Iraq. Quickly the other area families added their contributions and soon the large WELCOME HOME, wooden crosses, and flag poles have been added.
Please treat all areas with the respect due. You will need to remember to bring a writing implement with, as this is a log only container.
