Cheap Thrills Traditional Cache
Craftea's Archives: With the upcoming season of snow and no one visiting this area for their cheap thrills for a long while, I'm going to regretfully archive this one because I can't get it checked on till Spring.

Lost Lake is a great place for playing! You can camp here as well,
but if you’re just here for the day to play in the water (great
place for that!), hike around the lake (and get the many caches
around it), or make a campfire in one of the pits in the day-use
area (have a s’more for me!), you can make the day a cheaper one if
you park here by this cache.
When you get close to the guard shack, you will see the road veers
off in two directions. You are welcome to turn right and pay the
day use fee. That will allow you to park fairly close to the lake,
if you can find a place, and if you don’t mind your vehicle being
in the full sun. But if you’re into cheap thrills like I am, you
are also welcome to turn left and park anywhere along this road up
to the gate…. For free. There is even shade for at least two cars
during the hottest part of the day. You will have a short walk,
under a quarter of a mile, to get to the lake, but if you’re there
to swim, it’s good to work up a sweat before diving in anyway. If
you’re there to cache around the lake, what’s an extra little walk
to get to the starting point? And if you’re there to make s’mores,
well, it’s good exercise and will help burn off the calories you’re
going to consume. When I was here placing the cache and finding the
new ones, it was very busy at the lake, but this stretch of the
road was completely empty.
Cheap Thrills? Oh yeah, and I’ll take them every chance I get. One
thing I should mention, though, now that I’ve told you this cheap
thrill, if I’m on my way up, save a spot for me.
Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead
of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart
of the night.
