Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the above coordinates. The cache is close to a pond that I havn't actually seen anyone swimming in, but it looks very tempting!! When I placed the cache, I saw around 60 Canada geese on the pond :-) A short distance from the cache, you can see a better view of the pond. The cache should be wheelchair accessible with care.
You will need to take a look at the requirements for the BSA swimming merit badge to identify the coordinates.

Swimming is one of the 12 specific merit badges required of boyscouts to earn their Eagle Rank (the highest rank in boy scouts).

They also need to earn 9 further elective merit badges, put in many service hours and complete a major project, along with having completed a number of other requirements in lower ranks.

Below are some of the requirements for the BSA swimming merit badge....(as at 2009 - new requirements may be different)

A) Demonstrate survival skills by jumping feet first into deep water wearing clothes.
B) Following the guidelines set in the BSA Safe Swim Defense, in water at least 7 feet deep, show a standing headfirst dive from a dock or pool deck.
C) Demonstrate snorkeling and scuba diving knowledge.
D) Use the feet first method of surface diving and bring an object up from the bottom.
E) Show a long shallow dive from a dock or pool deck.
F) Identify the conditions that must exist before performing CPR on a person. Explain how to recognize such conditions.
G) Successfully complete second class rank requirements 7a-7c and First Class rank requirements 9a-9c.
H) Demonstrate proper technique for performing CPR using a training device approved by your counselor.
I) Do a head first surface dive (pike or tuck) and bring an object up.
J) Do a headfirst surface dive to a depth of at least 5 feet and swim underwater for three strokes. Come to the surface, take a breath, and repeat the sequence twice.
