Small cache located in the Tongariro National Park between the Tama Lakes.
The cache is a small black 500g honey plastic jar, located at 1310m altitude between the Tama Lakes. Originally it contains a binder clip, a small bag of Haribos (so the first one is lucky ;-) a logbook, pencil and sharpener.
From Whakapapa Village, it is a 8 km walk from 1150 m to 1310 m level. You will have a nice view to the Lower Tama Lake, which looks with the blue water very nice. If you have enough power have a walk to the Upper Tama Lake, which is the bigger one.
In the winter time you can have snow at this area, so be careful. Also with the weather, the conditions can change very quickly.
Enjoy the landscape and the views to the Mt. Ruapehu and Mt. Ngauruhoe.
