This cache is located near one of the oldest buildings in town. It was built in 1887-88 by Abram Swartz and served the village of Hebron as its third school house. On Jan. 26, 1915, it was learned that this school building was to be sold on March 6, as it was now too small to hold all the classes.
After much consideration, on March 9, 1915, Hebron Masons put a down payment of $450. On March 30th, they paid the balance of $1345, making the total purchase price $1795. To this they spent about $3500 in remodeling for its use as a Masonic Temple, its sixth and present meeting place.
On September 15, 1915, The building was dedicated as Hebron Lodge F&AM #116 and is still serving the members very well. The building is owned an maintained by the brothers of Hebron Lodge. PERMISSION HAS BEEN GRANTED FOR THE CACHE.
Enjoy your visit to this historic building in the village dubbed as the "Crossroad of Ohio".
