Escanaba River Bottom 2 Traditional Cache

While Geocaching.com would like to continue to hold the location for you, doing so blocks other cachers from placing caches in the area. We feel that this cache has been down for a period of time exceeding what is reasonable for the area, and thus I regretfully must archive it.

If you are able to get out and replace the cache, simply drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. I will be more than happy to take a look at it to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Geocache Description:


Because of cracks in the bedrock around the Boney Falls Dam, the water level above the dam has been lowered 4.5 feet, exposing new land that used to be at the bottom of the Escanaba River. It created a wonderful area to explore and run dogs. Some people have been driving on the new land but I wouldn’t recommend it. It can be muddy. I would suggest parking where the old boat launch used to be.
Parking coordinates: N 45 59.542’, W 087 16.252’.
