Geocache Description:

A Pensacola City Park mystery? "Into every park, a little cache
must fall" quote from a famous monkey!

GET READY FOR AN HISTORIC ADVENTURE! This is a cache originally
placed by OneOfEm and has now been revived. FTF - Congratulations
to Kabjet on another FTF!!

You will need to visit these two sites, only a canon shot apart, in
order to piece together the coordinates for the final cache. N 30º
25.466' W 087º 13.258' and N 30º 25.120' W 087º 13.032'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One site was erected in the 18th century as the headquarters of
British West Florida, and the other was the Spanish base for
General Bernardo de Galvez. The British forces of over 1,000 men
included over 500 Indians, and 200-300 German mercenaries. The
Spanish army included some American volunteers, (made more amazing
by the fact that most American fighting men were busy at the time
up north in a little spat called the Revolutionary War).. It is
strongly suspected by historians that Spain's tenure in Northwest
Florida, beginning with the Battle between the forces at these two
sites, made possible the American acquisition of the Pensacola area
by General Andrew Jackson a few decades later (his 3rd time taking
the area).

The final cache can be found at this location: N ABº CD.E0F' W 0GHº
JK.0LM' The clues for finding the final cache (a camo-painted
military surplus decon kit container) are as follows: AB: The
number of ships that Galvez brought to Pensacola Bay. (note:
Apparently two different markers have conflicting answers for this
question. Use the number that will put the final coordinates in
Florida. ) CD: The number of American volunteers who
fought with Galvez and the Spanish against the British. JHGE: The
year of the Battle of Pensacola. K/F: The numbers corresponding to
the month and day that the Battle of Pensacola began. (i.e.
January=1, February=2, March=3, etc...) L: The number of the
Waldeck Regiment of German mercenaries who fought with the British.
M: The number corresponding to the month during which Galvez sailed
into the Pensacola harbor causing the British to abandon the town.
(i.e. January=1, February=2, March=3, etc...) You can check your
answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com. (visit link)
