This cache is placed where history has passed us by. This site is also in tribute to those who built back in the old days, without using cement or mortar.
Park just over the modern bridge on Daggett Hollow Road and then clamber down into the dry stream bed and head towards the Illinois River.
This cache is placed on what is probably one of the oldest structures in Grafton. I do have a copy of an old photo taken back in 1834, with James Mason standing on this bridge. Mason was the founder of Grafton and the town is named after Masons home town of Grafton Mass. This area has been known to flood so please bear that in mind in the spring time.
