This cache is a replacement for a muggled cache. As a result, it is
a Ziploc twist top container, located in a bit more brush than the
previous cache.
This cache is located along Otter Creek. The stream was slightly
rerouted with US 53 was rebuilt in 2006. A partial trail was built
underneath the highway, and that is used to access this cache.
Park along S. Willson Dr. just north of the Otter Creek Lift
station. Proceed along the tree line to the SW corner of the water
retention area to find the trail. (It’s surfaced with wood
chips).
Follow the trail under the highway bridge. Once under the
bridge, head southwest towards the creek. This cache is on the EAST
side of the creek.
There may be places to cross the creek (if you’re on the
west side) but do so at your own risk.
The container is a small Ziploc twist top container.
Enjoy the nice view of the creek. Listen to the gentle sound of
the creek rapids, while at the same time, the roar of the nearby
highway traffic.
NOTE: As of the summer of 2010, there is a water retention
pond under construction near the parking coordinates. There is
heavy truck traffic near that site. Use caution when searching for
the cache during construction hours. Not sure when the project is
scheduled to be complete.
