Geocache Description:

A small cammoed snap top container. Hidden behind the Garfield Plantation community center. Original contents...a mouse, a snake and a cat....(Not Garfield the cat)

This is one of several caches placed in towns around Maine with Presidential names.

Garfield Plantation , Maine

Garfield is a plantation in Aroostook County, first organized on March 26, 1883, organized again in 1885 and finally its organization was confirmed on March 5, 1895.

Just west of Ashland, the Machias river makes its way through the plantation to join the Aroostook River in Ashland.
