Located right on the side of State Highway 1, just North of Waikanae.
Good location to trade trackable items as you pass on the way North or South. Nice easy drive-by for you.
State Highway 1 - Travel Bug & Geocoin rest and exchange area.
Please trade trackable items on a one for one basis, to leave enough trackable items to make it worth regular visits from Geocachers.
If you have no trackable items to trade, please take only 1 trackable item per visit.
You are very welcome to visit without having to exchange trackable items. There are the usual trade items in this cache too.
Cache is located 1.7km north of Waikanae township. It is not a public rest area, but a farm entrance (property owner is aware of the cache). There is room for 1 or 2 cars to stop safely just off the highway.
When your GPS tells you that there is 300m to cache, indicate to left and pull over as much as possible to let traffic behind you pass.
If coming from North DO NOT park and walk across SH1. It is 100km area and too dangerous, simply wait until safe and turn around.
If from South, indicate well in advance and pull over right at cache site.
There is likely to be quite a good deal of passing traffic. The traffic will generally not take any notice of you, but a degree of stealth may need to be deployed.
I will check inventory every 1 or 2 weeks to make sure no items are left here for long and will move on and replace items on a regular basis
