Geocache Description:

The site of this cache is good if you are a fisherman or looking for a nice place to camp. Mackintosh Dam is one of four dams in the Pieman River Power Sceme and construction was started in 1974 and completed in 1987. The development consists of three power stations, five dams and a range of associated works.
The Mackintosh Power Station, at the foot of Mackintosh Dam, has a capacity of 79.9 MW. It discharges its water into Lake Rosebery, the first of two storages formed by dams across the Pieman River.

If visiting this area in winter in may be possible that access will be prohibited as the road into Lake Mackitosh has the spillway across it and if dam is spilling the gate will be closed. But after all the rain we have had the dam was quite a few metres from spilling when I was there today.
The cache area offers great views of the lake and Mt Farell.

Cache is a micro to small metal cyclinder with logbook but no swaps at this stage..
