Black Manta, his arch nemesis is Aquaman. He is one of the more memorable members of the Legion of Doom. Mysterious, evil and ruthless... he is a modern-day pirate of the seas. He sits there watching this "floating lady".
Welcome to Barretto Point Park! (visit link)
Once a dirty, kind of scary, abandoned lot at the edge of a large industrial area, Hunts Point. This park has been seriously renovated and is truly a nice place to spend a beautiful day. Off to one side is the Tiffany Street Pier, where on any given day, you can see fishermen casting their lines into the water. In Barretto Park, there is a playground, basketball and volleyball courts, a picnic area, sprinklers and "The Floating Pool Lady". This park suffers from two facts: 1) the neighborhood sucks, and the 2) the gawd-awful smell that drifts by from the nearby treatment plant. Otherwise, it's beautiful!
The "Floating Pool Lady" (visit link)
This pool is a seven-lane pool on a barge. It was originally intended to move from place to place along the city's waterfronts, but it's been docked at Barretto Park for who knows how long.
NOTE: The Floating Pool is closed during the off-season. It will open in the summer. Look at the website for more info.
While in the park, you can read about The General Slocum Disaster (visit link) which occurred nearby and, for a long time, was considered "NY's Worst Disaster". You can also get a good view of South Brother Island (visit link) North Brother Island (visit link) and Riker's Island (visit link)
NOTE: Park closes at dusk! The park is beautiful, awesome, and a great place to bring the family, BUT... the area around the park is "less than desirable". Especially very late at night. Be careful!
You are looking for a black, cylindrical container hidden a few yards from the water's edge, in the shadow of a nearby tree, where Black Manta can sit and relax as he counts his gold and watch his "floating lady".
Please re-hide cache so it's not easily visible.
NOTE: There is an FTF coin for the FTF when he/she FTFs this cache.
